World MBA Tour (Sept. 12)
The World MBA Tour is organized by QS Top MBA to give
applicants an opportunity to meet admission officers and alumni at several
countries. On September 12 it was Mexico City’s turn and a lot of eager
applicants came to the event. Wharton was one of the most sought after
stands, were we got questions from over 80 people in a four hour time
frame. It was interesting and a lot of fun talking to prospective
students with strong interest in Wharton and even college students getting
ahead of themselves. Thanks to Oscar Diaz, Gerardo Hamilton and Mari
Carmen Negrete for their help and enthusiasm in managing the table.
Information Session (Sept 21)
Once a year the Admission office holds an information
session in several cities all over the world. Leslie Friedman came to
Mexico City on September 21st to give a bunch of enthusiastic applicants a
small taste of Wharton. We got an excellent response, with well over 70
people crowding the room. After the presentation it was time for alumni to
share our experiences and views of Wharton. Rodrigo Peredo (WG05), Paola
Salman (WG04), Mari Carmen Negrete (WG03), Ignacio Aguillo (WG03), Oscar
Díaz (WG96), Gerardo Hamilton (WG80) and Samuel Nanes (WG78) were happy to
answer all kind of questions from the crowd. The event exceeded
everyone’s expectations, we are hoping to get a very qualified pool of
Mexican applicants to conform the class of 08.
Recruiting Season
The Wharton School has begun the 2005-06
recruiting season for the Wharton MBA Program. As a Wharton graduate, you
can appreciate the importance of attracting the best candidates to the
School. Through the efforts of alumni leaders like you the School is able
to admit an outstanding class of individuals each year. Nowhere is this
more evident than in the survey of newly admitted Class of 2007 students,
where the overwhelming majority of respondents cited their interactions with
alumni as a decisive factor in their decision to attend Wharton.
We hope that you will help us with our recruiting efforts this year. Send an
electronic e-card inviting prospective candidates to attend one of Wharton's
